Initial goals~
Throughout the duration of the Korean War, both the North and the South had their allies offering them support. The United Nations continued to help the South in their battle against North Korea- basically communism in general. North Korea also had their allies- China, Russia, etc.
North Korea, China and Russia all believed in the communism way of ruling. They believed that a set ruler should have control over the entire country- thinking they know what's best for the peolple. Meanwhile, South Korea and American believed in a more democratic way of ruling. The people have more of a say in what happens and who they choose to follow as their leader.
Neither the North nor the South gave in to the pressure of one another. In my opinion, this represents that they felt strongly about what they were fighting for- or the war would not have lasted 3 years and caused so many casualties.
Many countries believed in the way of a communism style ruling. However, just as many nations believed a democratic way of ruling was best. This is one of the many battles that had showed just how far people will go for something they believe in.
