role of north korea
Because the war was between North and South Korea, the North played a significant role in the war. North Korea wanted to control all of Korea and the people inhabiting it. They wanted to control what people did as well as what rights they had.
South Korea was against this idea. They believed that people should have a more of a say in the government and with what happens.
North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25th of 1950. They were supported by China as well as the Soviet Union. North Korea had a vast number of troops that crossed the 38th Parallel in order to invade its neighbor, South Korea. The United Nations as well as other countries realized the danger of North Korea taking over South Korea and ruling it all as a Communist style government. They had became South Korea's savior during the war. Each side of the war had their own beliefs and they fought for what they believe in.
Regardless of the other nations joining either side to help, they were called the South or the North. North Korea started the quarrel and tried pushing its beliefs on other nations which didn't sit well with the U.N. The war ended in a blood bath and with tension that is still there to this day. There was also much tension between Russia and America with would later result in the Cold War.
Implications I can draw about North Korea and the Korean War is that North Korea tried pushing it's beliefs on others and went about it the wrong way. If they believed in communism, they could have ruled their side in that style. Instead, they decide to start a war that lasted 3 years and in the end, they still didn't get what they wanted. All of this could have been avoided if North Korea wasn't so stubborn.
